If not handled properly, it may develop into a full blown crisis of confidence between the distinguished Senator and one of his major support bases.
During the campaign for the Edo North senatorial seat, Sen. Oshiomole was said to have promised to give priority attention to the construction of the Ubiane-Aviele road once he was elected; in fact specifically, would be one of his his constituency projects.

But two years down the line, Sen. Oshiomole seems to have reneged on his promise, with the condition of the road now worse than before.
Agitated and angry; some aggrieved Ubiane community members decided to release a video, which has since gone viral, depicting the time and place the Senator allegedly made the promise.
He was reported to have made the promise while soliciting votes ahead of the March 23, 2023, national assembly election.
Sen. Oshiomole is the former APC National Chairman, Edo State governor and also hails from Uzairue clan, Etsako-West Local Government Council Area.
According to Ubiane community sources, the reason behind the viral video may not be far-fetched.
A community source told ‘Borderline News 24’ that there is no sinister motive behind the release of the viral video, but was a last resort to remind the distinguished Senator of his promise.
Riding on the crest of his popularity and status as the Edo APC leader, the aide of the fiery former NLC President has gone to town to release his account of stewardship.
He outlined a long list of projects Sen. Oshiomole attracted to the senatorial zone, either at advanced or completed stages.
There are; however, many who still believe Sen. Oshiomhole has not done enough as a senator to justify the accolades being poured on him.
The number of those in this category continues to grow with each passing day.
The general perception is that the performance of Sen. Oshiomhole has been most riddled with several unfulfilled promises.
But in a bid to douse the rising tension and also set the records straight, Victor Oshioke, Sen Oshiomhole’s Personal Assistant in a published achievements of his principal in office on the social media, acknowledged that he indeed, made such a promise during the campaign.
A section of the publication read thus:
”One project which is dear to the senator’s heart, but which he has not yet been accomplished because of the limits of his constituency budget, is the Ubiane road, which he publicly promised to fix during the 2023 campaign.
“The Senator has held conversations with state and federal government agencies on the subject and received credible assurances that construction work will commence on the Ubiane-Aviele road during the period of his first tenure in office. It is a promise he made and it is a promise that will be fulfilled.”
It is however, not yet certain whether this explanation would appease the aggrieved people of Ubiane community.
