On behalf of the people, Odionwere (traditional administrative Head) Osarenren Enogieru made the commendation and appeal while speaking to journalists on the community’s efforts to develop and grow through self help.
Making the appeal, he explained; the access road into the community links other communities in the area and if constructed by the State Government, it will certainly alleviate the long suffering and pain of residents over the years; especially during the rainy season.
Also, it will no doubt, bolster the economic activities of residents, he pointed out.
The Odionwere added that they are also in dire need of a health center for which land has been allotted; with blocks gradually being moulded for its construction.
He laments that the residents had to travel to neighbouring communities to access their health needs.
“Like the saying goes; Oliver Twist asks for more, the government can also help us in the area of electricity. As big as the community, we only have one transformer which is not adequate.
“The community is expanding on a daily basis, if we can have an additional transformer, it will help stabilise electricity here and the continued experience of low voltage anytime there is light supply, will become history.”
Odionwere Enogieru also used the occasion to appreciate His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II CFR, for his fatherly role and ensuring peace reigns in the kingdom.
He however appealed to the Oba to come to their aid complaining of the people of Evbuotubu community; who he alleged of often creating problems in the area.

“They always cross their boundary to come sell land that does not belong to them.”
The people of Okhiaro community are peaceful and law abiding and would not want to take the laws into their hands hence the appeal, Odionwere Enogieru asserts.
While calling on the indigenes of Okhiaro both home and abroad to complement government efforts in the development of the community, he urged developers and intending developers not to listen to side talk.
Should they have any problem in the cause of carrying out their legitimate business in the community, they should feel free to come over to see the elders’ council led by the Odionwere and it will be amicably resolved, Odionwere Enogieru assured.
