The visit, was to sensitize staff members on the benefits of investing in landed properties, and the flexible payment options available to prospective buyers.

Mrs. Abdallah also recommended cooperative savings as a practical means of making property ownership easier for civil servants.

This was made known in a press release by Daisy Osunde, Director, media in the Ministry and circulated amongst journalists in Benin.

Responding after the visitors’ presentation, the Commissioner appreciated the firm for bringing the investment opportunity to the ministry, describing real estate as a worthwhile and profitable venture that offers lasting value and future returns.

She noted that investing in landed property is far more rewarding in the long term than spending money on non-essential items, urging that workers should take deliberate steps towards securing assets that will appreciate over time.

Mrs. Abdallah encouraged the members of staff to take advantage of the initiative; suggesting that they embrace collective savings schemes such as “Osusu,” (thrift) to enable them to purchase plots of land for themselves.

The Commissioner observed that for many civil servants, raising a lump sum of money at once for land purchase may be difficult due to daily financial obligations and family responsibilities.

She pointed out that as an easy way, installment payment plans and cooperative savings arrangements could go a long way in making property ownership achievable.

Earlier, the Marketing Manager of Pinnacle Builders, Chijioke Destiny said the company had in the last six months extended its real estate investment campaign to the public sector, with a focus on civil and public servants, to educate them on how to acquire landed properties through installment payment plans.

According to him, the initiative is aimed at making land ownership easier and more accessible, while also tackling the longstanding issue of land grabbing.

Destiny was quoted to have asserts that the company has distinguished itself in the real estate business through integrity and credibility, stressing that many of its clients over the years have remained satisfied with its services.

He was said to have disclosed that Pinnacle Builders currently has about 10 estates across Benin City, most of which are strategically located not far from major roads.

Adding; that buyers are entitled to receive five key documents after purchase, namely: Deed of Transfer, General Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), General Survey Plan, Community Approval, and Government Layout Plan.

He further explained that payment for plots of land can be spread conveniently over a period ranging from three months to one year, depending on the buyer’s arrangement.

The sensitization programme formed part of efforts to promote financial planning and investment awareness among staff of the ministry, it was stated.
