Gov-Ademola-Adeleke
From our Correspondent, Osogbo
As political parties begin primaries for the governorship election scheduled for 8 August, 2026, in Osun State, the governor, Ademola Adeleke has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) resigning his membership.
Reliable inside sources say it may not be unconnected with the statement of the Osun State Chairman of PDP, Sunday Bisi who was quoted to have declared that the Governor will not pick the party re-election ticket owing to national leadership crisis.

Adeleke announced resignation of his PDP membership barely 12 hours of Bisi’s declaration, citing continued crisis at the national leadership of the Party as the prompting, it was said.
The Governor’s letter of resignation as sighted by our Correspondent in Osogbo, was addressed to the PDP Chairman of his Ward 2, Sagba Abogunde, Ede, Osun State, and dated 4th November, 2025.

The letter titled: “Resignation of my membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)” read: “Due to the current crisis of the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my Membership of the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect.
“I thank the People’s Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator (Represented Osun West) and as Governor of Osun State under the People’s Democratic Party.”
Meanwhile, the Governor has been recently in romance with the ruling Party; the All Progressives Congress (APC) which made many political commentators predict he would soon port from the PDP.
Though, he has not revealed his next political destination.
