The Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has reaffirmed its commitment to strategic partnerships aimed at advancing the welfare of women, children, families and other vulnerable groups.
The reaffirmation was made when the National Eye for Equity and Development (NEEDs JAGABAN 2027), formerly known as Edo Eye Akpakomiza and Denco Support Group, paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry.

The organisation during the visit decorated the Honourable Commissioner, Mrs. Eugenia Abdallah as its National Patron.
Daisy Osunde, the Ministry’s director of media disclosed this in a press release circulated amongst journalists in Benin.
National Coordinator of the organisation, Engr. Austine Emoh Echemoda while speaking, said they are committed to partnering with the Ministry in promoting programmes and policies that empower women, protect vulnerable persons and encourage inclusive development.
Engr. Echemoda further assured the Commissioner of the group’s continued support in projecting the achievements of the Ministry, and disseminating factual information that reflects its people-oriented programmes and vision.
He pledged that the organization would uphold the values of integrity, discipline and excellence while working closely with the Ministry.
The organisation during the visit also decorated the Honourable Commissioner, Mrs. Eugenia Abdallah, as its National Patron.
Conferring the honour
on the Commissioner, Engr. Echemoda said it was in recognition of her exemplary leadership, humanitarian service and unwavering commitment to the protection and empowerment of women and vulnerable members of the society.
He added that the decision to honour her followed extensive consultations and assessment of public office holders who have distinguished themselves through impactful service.
He described Hon. Abdallah as a compassionate and dedicated leader whose integrity and commitment to humanity have earned her admiration across the country.
Responding, the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Eugenia Abdallah expressed profound appreciation to the leadership and members of the organization for finding her worthy of the recognition.
She noted that the honour would serve as further motivation, to remain steadfast in selfless service to the people of Edo State.
The Commissioner highlighted the core mandate of the Ministry, which includes promoting the welfare and empowerment of women, strengthening families, protecting children and providing care and support for vulnerable groups in the society.

She emphasized that these responsibilities are being diligently executed in line with the SHINE Agenda of the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Hon. Abdallah welcomed the organization’s readiness to collaborate with the Ministry, assuring its members that they would be involved in the Ministry’s programmes and activities whenever necessary, to deepen community participation and expand the reach of government interventions.
She stressed that achieving sustainable social development requires collective effort and encouraged the group to remain committed to initiatives that improve the lives of citizens, particularly women, children and other vulnerable persons.
The visit ended with the decoration of Hon. Eugenia Abdallah as the National Patron of the National Eye for Equity and Development (NEEDs JAGABAN 2027).
The National Eye for Equity and Development (NEEDs JAGABAN 2027), evolved from a state-based support group, into a national movement with coordinators in all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, it was said.
