The people of Iguoshodi-Nikpemaba community in Ovia-North-East local government area of Edo State, have unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the leadership headed by Pa. Johnson Ahanor – Odionwere (Eldest man and administrative Head), Prince Peter Eweka – Chairman of Elders’ Council, and Kenneth Omorogbee Okaighele (Youths Head).

Recently, an enlarged meeting of the elders in Council, youths and women was held at the community’s Oguedion (elders and ancestors’ sanctuary), where the people reposed confidence in the leadership.
Speaking to journalists, the Ozukpogieva (2nd ranking elder), Matthew Igbinosun said the reaffirmation of confidence in the community’s leadership was necessitated by a trending video in the social media space, with intent to blackmail, and cause disharmony amongst residents and natives.
Odionwere Pa. Johnson Ahanon
Pa. Igbinosun stated that allegations carried in the video on social media are not only false and misinforming, but an attempt by the authors to cause division in the community hence, they should be disregarded.
“I want to use this occasion to tell all and sundry that Pa. Johnson Ahanor remains our Odionwere, and of the community. There was never anytime he was removed, it was the Oba who put him there as the Odionwere and he remains the Odionwere”.
Continuing, the Ozukpogieva added that the only Okaighele in the community that was appointed by the Odionwere, Pa. Johnson Ahanor in conjunction with the elders and the people, is Kenneth Omoregbee.
There is no division, the people are living together as one; anything more than that should be disregarded.
Also speaking, the ozukpogieha (3rd ranking eldest man), Pa. Henry Onaghino added that there are no issues in the community, the purported video on social media is misleading as the people are living in harmony with each other.
Pa. Johnson Ahanor remains the Odionwere and Kenneth Omoregbee as well remains the Okaighele.
The Ohen (deity Priest) of the Community, Lewis Igbinosun corroborated the assertions of the earlier speakers stressing, there is no dispute about that.
Anybody who is having the ambition to take over as the Okaighele is lying, he declared. “Until the Odionwere says he no longer needs his services as the Okaighele, Kenneth Omorogbee remains our Okaighele,” he emphasised.
On behalf of the community’s women, Mrs. Joy Ehigiator spoke reiterating the assertions of the men folks.
“We held our meeting today, and we the women of the community are very much on the side of the leadership of the community headed by Pa. Johnson Ahanor as the Odionwere.
“We also appreciate our Okaighele, Kennteth Omorogbee. No dispute, no quarrel in this community. We all are very happy with the leadership style.”
In the same vein, the Chairman Elders’ Council of Iguoshodin N’Kpemaba, Prince Peter Eweka recounts how the Okaighele, Kenneth Omoregbee is doing his best to bring in development to the community. He urged the people to join hands with him for the growth and development of the community.
“This community is peaceful, we are all leaving in harmony. We don’t have any problem here in this community. The Okaighele of this community is Kenneth Omoregbee.
“He is a peaceful and loving Okaighele. As you can see; he is bulldozing the road, you can also see the women, they are all happy because there is peace in the community.
“I want to state here that the community is peaceful, and that our Okaighele in the person of Kenneth Omoregbee remains the Okaighele of Iguoshodin N’Kpemonba.”

“I want to at this juncture call on well-meaning individuals who are ready and interested in the development of their landed properties, to do so as there is no problem whatsoever in Iguoshodi-NiKpemaba.
“There is nothing like land grabbing in this community. Just come, feel free to come and develop. We the youths, we guarantee and assure your safety at any given time.“
