…says we do not partake in activities that are against the customs and traditions of the land

The elders and people of Iguovbiobo Community in Uhunmwonde local government area of Edo State have debunked the alleged perpetration of activities of the outlawed community development association
Allegation is the handiwork of those who do not mean well for the community, they said.

They made the denial while speaking to journalists in the community town hall in an enlarged meeting of the people.

On the allegations of land grabbing, the Okaighele (Youth Head), Augustine Evbuomwan said such unlawful practices do not take place in Iguovbiobo Community.
“We have landed property people bought here in Iguovbiobo more than 10 years ago, it is still very intact; we respect our father, the great Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin kingdom so we cannot partake in activities that are against the customs and traditions of the land.”
The Okaighele urged members of the public to feel free to do business with Iguovbiobo Community and disregard the allegations of land grabbing, saying it is all mere rumours from distractors who are out to cause problems in the community.

Evbuomwan used the occasion to assure everyone who has landed property in Iguovbiobo community that their land and properties are very safe, and there is no cause for alarm.
He consequently informed members of the public; that there is nothing like leadership tussle in the community.
He added that the Palace of the Oba of Benin has resolved the hitherto Odionwere issue, and that when it was the stipulated time for the installation of a new one; it will be done amicably.
Meanwhile; the status quo remains, that he( Augustine Evbuomwan) remains the Okaighele of Iguovbiobo Community.
Continuing, he said as the Okaighele of the community, his duty is to ensure there is peace at all times; which will bring about meaningful development because where there is no peace, there will be no development.
He also used the occasion to call on the indigenes both home and in the diaspora, to join in the development of the community for the benefit of all .
