The strike action by the Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara has been suspended; with the hospital management giving the directive to workers to immediately resume beginning on Thursday, 2 July, 2026.

Hospital Management wishes to inform all members of staff that the Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), DELSUTH Chapter, has suspended its industrial action.
Consequently, normal hospital services will resume with effect from 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, 2nd July, 2026.
All members of staff are hereby directed to report to their respective duty posts promptly and ensure the seamless restoration of clinical, academic, and administrative services. Heads of Departments and Unit Heads are requested to ensure full compliance and coordinate the smooth resumption of activities within their respective departments.
Hospital Management appreciates the understanding, patience, and cooperation of all staff throughout the period of the industrial action and looks forward to everyone’s continued commitment to quality healthcare delivery.

MDCAN at the tertiary health facility declared a total, indefinite strike on June 18, 2026.
The industrial action had led to a total shutdown of clinical services, residency training, and academic activities, leaving patients stranded and medical training suspended across the facility.
