The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Delta State Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara, Prof. Harrison Abedi has urged the field workers to ensure the environment is always kept clean and serene.
The CMD on Wednesday, 8 July, 2026 made the request while addressing the workers after his inspection tour of the entire hospital facilities and environment.

Prof. Abedi however commended the workers for their dedication and hard work.
Pointing out, that their services are highly valued and essential to the hospital’s success hence they must not look down on themselves.

Acknowledging the challenges the workers have faced over the years carrying out their job, the CMD said the hospital’s Management has procured mower machines and tractors to aid their efforts.
He assured, Management would continue to provide the necessary working tools and equipment to enable them perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
Prof. Abedi also informed the workers that the faulty transformer which has occasioned unstable electricity supply in the hospital; is expected to be delivered within days, for installation.
Encouraging the workers to remain diligent in keeping the hospital premises clean, attractive, and free from disease-causing hazards, the CMD emphasizes the cliché; “cleanliness is next to godliness.”
He added; that a clean environment did not only promote good health, but also creates a welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors.
During the tour, the CMD also visited the hospital’s gas plant, where he assured staff that the facility would soon be revived to provide services not only to DELSUTH, but also to clinics and other healthcare facilities within Oghara and its environs.
Responding on behalf of the field workers, Robinson Magbaku expressed gratitude to the CMD for his concern about their welfare and commitment to addressing their operational needs.
Magbaku described Prof. Abedi as a compassionate leader who understands the challenges faced by staff and he is determined to improve their working conditions.
The field workers on Wednesday, began the cutting down of the overgrown grasses all over the hospital premises, and will continue until the huge bushy parts are all cut down.
