Edo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Eugenia Abdallah, on Thursday, 7 May, 2026 received members of the Etsako Students Union Government, University of Benin Chapter on a courtesy visit to the ministry in Benin City.
The delegation was led by the President of the union, Ikelebe Solomon who congratulated the commissioner on her appointment and commended her performance since assuming office.

The media team of the ministry headed by Daisy Osunde, director, made this known in a press release circulated amongst journalists in Benin, on Friday.
While speaking, Solomon described Mrs. Abdallah as a worthy daughter of Etsako land who has continued to make a positive impact through her leadership in the ministry.
He disclosed that the union has a membership strength of about 3,458 students across the University of Benin, adding that it regularly organizes programmes aimed at positively impacting members and promoting cultural values.
Solomon was quoted to have stated; that one of the union’s notable activities is its annual Cultural Day celebration, where distinguished Etsako sons and daughters are invited to interact with students and encourage unity, leadership and academic excellence.

Responding, Mrs. Abdallah thanked the students for the visit and pledged her continued support for activities that promote youth development and societal growth.
She was said to have emphasized the importance of supporting one another in building a viable society while asserting; the Edo State Government remains committed to inclusiveness and equal representation for all tribes in the State.
This is as She further pointed out that the administration of the Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo does not discriminate against any ethnic group; but operates an all-inclusive government where every tribe has a sense of belonging, it was said.

Highlighting the occasion, was the presentation of a congratulatory card to the Commissioner by the visitors in recognition of her appointment and contributions to public service, the press release said.
