Ehor – Piqued by an alleged malicious publication against the suspended Enogie of Ehor in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State, Pa. David E. Igiehor JP, over illegal sale of the community land,Concerned indigenes of the area has debunked the allegation.
A press statement signed by the secretary of the concerned indigenes, Mr. Best Osaro ldahosa noted that the news item which was anchored by one Nosa Akenzua – Asaba, published in an online daily news hub of Friday June 13th, 2025 is a calculated attempt by the petitioner Mr. Richard lrabor to smear the image of the Enogie.

In the petition, it was alleged that the suspended Enogie has since his suspension by the Benin monarch Oba Ewuare 11, sold several community lands running into millions used in mobilizing some youths of the area to beg the Oba of Benin at the palace gate in Benin city for mercies.
“It is generally not the tradition of the Enogie to respond to false and inaccurate news items but we are constrained to do so this time because of the underserved, embarrassment and denigrating innuendos our beloved and highly esteemed suspended Enogie, Pa. David E. Igiehor (JP) faced arising from the mischievous and distasteful news of land grabbing against him.
“We view the report as a calculated attempt to provoke further controversy between our respected Enogie and the highly reverend palace of the Benin monarch in order to continue to fuel the suspension recently handed out to the Enogie and others by the Oba.
” For the purpose of clarity, there was never a time the Enogie either by himself, privies, agents or servants now or before he was suspended by the Monarch for a different issue already been addressed by some concerned indigenes of the dukedom, embarked in an unholy act of illegal sale of community lands.
“We view the news report of such a serious and criminal issue of land grabbing as a calculated and ill motivated effort to portray the Enogie in bad light.
” We challenged the petitioner and writer to provide concrete evidence to support these claims as the publication is driven by hatred and ulterior motives aimed at fueling the continuous suspension of the Enogie” the statement concluded.
