Youths in Edo State and beyond; have been admonished to remain focused, persistent, and consistent in pursuing their dreams by the State Government, emphasizing that resilience, discipline, and hard work remain the surest pathways to success.
On behalf of Government, the Honourable State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Eugenia Abdallah gave the charge when she received the Executive Producer of South South Next Top Model Season 11, Joe Joe Dominic alongside his team and contestants on a courtesy visit to her office.
The Models and contestants were led on the visit, to seek guidance and mentorship on achieving greatness in their careers and life, it was said.

While speaking; Hon. Abdallah had advised the aspiring models not to lose sight of their personal aspirations imitating others.
The Head, media in the Ministry, Daisy Osunde made the disclosure in a press release circulated amongst journalists in Benin on Monday, June 29, 2026.
The Commissioner was quoted to have lectured, that every successful individual had overcome challenges through determination, diligence, and unwavering commitment to their goals.
Life is filled with obstacles but such challenges should serve as stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks, She advised.
The Edo State Government under the leadership of the Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, through its ‘SHINE Agenda’ is committed to creating an enabling environment where young people can discover, nurture, and maximize their talents for personal and societal development, Mrs. Abdallah was said to have assured.
The Commissioner commended the Executive Producer of the South South Next Top Model, Joe Joe Dominic, for providing a platform that mentors and positively shapes young people.
As She expressed the confidence that the guidance and life lessons being imparted through the initiative; would equip the contestants for success both on and off the runway.
Also speaking, Dr. Mercy Bello Abu, a Management Consultant and Clarity Mind-Reset Strategist, emphasized the importance of setting SMART goals as a roadmap to achieving one’s vision and aspirations.
She encouraged the participants to remain humble regardless of their achievements, noting that humility is a vital quality that open doors to greater relevance and opportunities.
In the same vein, the Ministry’s Director of Finance, Mrs. Mary Ikhajiagbe encouraged the models never to give up in the face of challenges.
Pointing out that the journey to greatness is often difficult; She assured: “but perseverance, consistency, self-discipline, and self-motivation would ultimately lead to success.”

Earlier, the Executive Producer of South South Next Top Model Season 11, Joe Joe Dominic, said the visit was aimed at exposing the contestants to moral guidance and life counselling, from respected personalities and institutions.
According to him, beyond the glamour of the runway, many young models require mentorship and practical life lessons to navigate both their careers and everyday challenges successfully.
The interactive session ended with words of encouragement from the Ministry’s management, reaffirming the Edo State Government’s commitment to youth development, mentorship, and creating opportunities that inspire young people to achieve their full potential.
