The Governor Monday Okpebholo administration will never be derailed in its focus to rebuilding Edo State, his Party; the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated in responses to the critics of the opposition; Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Tony Aziegbemi’s faction of the PDP had bashed the Governor on his alleged threat of one Albert Obazee in the diaspora, with imprisonment for statements he regarded as blackmail, reckless and insightful.

According to the PDP; “This statement, made during a live broadcast, is not only beneath the office of a governor but reeks of authoritarianism, desperation, and an alarming abuse of power.
“In a democracy, dissent is not only expected — it is necessary. No public official, however powerful he thinks he is, has the right to threaten a private citizen for expressing an opinion or taking a contrary political stance.”
Responding during the weekend, the APC in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Prince Peter Uwadiae Enosoregbe Igbinigie Esq and availed journalists in Benin, said the PDP made false claims and suddenly assumed the role of moral guardians of democracy, after its failure in the State.
The statement reads: “This allegation is completely unfounded and reflects the PDP’s ongoing strategy of misinformation and political distraction.
“At no point did Governor Okpebholo issue any such threat.
“What the Governor has done and will continue to do is speak firmly against the culture of impunity, blackmail, and cyberbullying being weaponized by politically sponsored actors who operate under the guise of activism, often from outside the country.
“It is disingenuous for the PDP to suddenly assume the role of moral guardians of democracy, especially considering the party’s legacy of administrative failure in Edo State.
“During its eight year tenure, the PDP presided over systemic decay: unpaid workers, unfulfilled projects, institutional collapse, and a debt-ridden economy.
“In contrast, the Okpebholo led administration is driving meaningful reforms, rehabilitating roads, restoring power to neglected communities, clearing pension arrears, overhauling waste management systems, and repositioning government institutions for better service delivery.
“While the PDP clings to worn-out tactics of propaganda and false outrage, Governor Okpebholo remains resolutely focused on the real issues that matter to Edo people.

“Governance is no longer business as usual. There is no room for distractions by failed politicians or attention-seeking agents.
“This government respects the rule of law and upholds democratic freedoms, including the right to free speech.
“However, freedom must be exercised responsibly. Anyone who feels defamed or maligned is encouraged to seek redress through legal channels not through manipulative public commentary.
“Governor Okpebholo’s administration will not be derailed by political noise!
“The era of recklessness, impunity, and irresponsibility is over. Edo people deserve and are receiving credible leadership anchored on transparency, accountability, and development.”
